This project aims to promote submission-only matches, both in gi and no-gi. At Submission Arena, participants can join existing leagues or create their own, invite other participants to submission-only matches and accept such invitations, as well as climb the league standings. Within a specific league, up to 4 matches can be held between the same two opponents.
Matches are entirely based on self-organization by the participants. We simply provide a platform for finding opponents, agreeing on match times, submitting results, and calculating points. Participants are fully responsible for choosing the venue and conducting the matches, for their own safety, and for following the rules and principles of fair play.
Leagues are planned to run in seasons. The first beta season is expected to run until approximately the end of December.
At the moment, there are no prizes or awards, but we are working on attracting sponsors. If you or someone you know might be interested in sponsoring the project, please contact us in any way that is convenient for you.
Sign in with Google, then complete your athlete profile - gender, date of birth, belt, weight class, location, team, and a contact email. Your profile determines which leagues you're eligible to join or create.
NOTE: Your contact email can be different from the one you will use for login. Only your contact email will be visible for other athletes so they can contact you about upcoming fights.
A league is a competitive category defined by country, gender, age division, belt (or belt range), weight class, and discipline (Gi or No-Gi). Browse all leagues from the homepage - leagues you're eligible for are shown first.
Any onboarded athlete can create a new league if one doesn't already exist for their division. You choose the country and discipline; gender and weight are taken from your profile.
Every athlete can participate in multiple leagues.
Choose an existing league (filtered by your country of residence, gender, and age):

Click a league after you have joined it (you can join multiple leagues) to enter:

Some leagues cover a single belt, others span up to three adjacent belts (for example, Brown and Black, or Purple, Brown, and Black) to make it easier to find opponents in smaller divisions. When creating a league, you can choose a single belt or a range - your own belt must fall within the range you create.

Invite another athlete in your league to a match. Once they've responded, either of you can propose a date and time — the other side confirms it. You can arrange up to four matches against the same opponent within a league.
To invite an athlete, click the Invite button in the standings table:

scroll down to the athlete cards and click Invite there:

Matches can be rescheduled up until 24 hours before the start time. Either athlete can cancel a match at any point before it's completed.
After your match, either athlete submits the result along with a video link. You can post the video on any platform of your choice and paste the URL into the designated field (we do not provide a video hosting option). The other athlete then confirms or disputes it. Confirmed results are reviewed and approved by an admin before points are awarded.

A win is worth 3 points, a loss is worth 1 point. Standings are ranked by total points. A match ruled "no contest" awards no points to either athlete.
All matches are submission-only, with no time limits, points, or advantages.
Please follow the official rulebook regarding legal and illegal techniques for each belt and age category.
Please make sure that at least one of the athletes provides a referee on the mat. We are all here to have fun - let's keep everything clean, safe, and friendly!
For Gi mathces, please wear a Gi (rashguards and spats are allowed under the Gi). There are no restrictions on colors or prints. Regarding Gi length and quality, please follow official IBJJF Uniform Requirements.
For No-Gi matches, rashguards and shorts are required. There are no restrictions on colors or prints. For gear safety standards, please follow the IBJJF No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu Uniform Requirements.
It is your responsibility to agree on starting the match, so please treat each other with respect and sportsmanship. We're all here to have fun! 🤙.
If you disagree with a submitted result, you can dispute it by clicking Dispute button. An admin will review the video and case details to decide the outcome-awarding the win to one athlete or ruling the match a no contest.
